Tulferberghütte

Tulferberghütte sits at 2,485m on the Tulferberg, between the Zillertal and Ötztal valleys in the Ötztal Alps. Reach it from Sölden via the Ötztal settlement of Längenfeld, following the Fieschthal valley to the trailhead at Längenfeld. The hiking route takes 3 hours from the village. Most climbers approach from the Vent valley side, a steeper 2.5-hour push gaining 900m vertically. The hut serves as a base for summiting Ziliertaler Grate (3,025m) and accessing the Ötztal's glacier approaches.
The hut is managed by the Austrian Alpine Club (OeAV). It has 40 beds split across multiple rooms and offers half-board meals using regional ingredients. The kitchen provides solid fare for mountaineers preparing for early starts on Alpine routes. Basic facilities include blankets, pillows, and washbasins with cold water. Heating comes from a wood stove. The hut operates year-round but expect reduced services and unpredictable access during heavy winter snowfall.
Book directly with the hut by phone or email at least 4 weeks ahead for summer weekends and holidays (July–August). Weekday slots fill slower. Arrive by mid-afternoon to claim bed space on busy periods; the staff won't guarantee late arrivals without advance notice. Winter access requires checking conditions 48 hours beforehand—many approaches become impassable without crampons and rope knowledge.
