Christophorushütte

Christophorushütte sits at 1592m in the Sengsengebirge range near Großraming in Upper Austria. Reach it from the village of Großraming (470m) via a marked hiking trail that climbs steadily through forest for about 2 hours. The approach is straightforward and suitable for anyone with basic fitness. The hut serves as a base for ridge walks across the Sengsengebirge and connects to routes heading toward the Kasberg and Speckbacher Alm.
The OeAV-managed hut has 48 beds across 8 private rooms and dormitory spaces. Meals are available daily including hearty evening menus and packed lunches for onward hikes. The hut has a basic kitchen, dining room, and toilets with hot water. Open year-round, though staffing and meal service are reduced in winter months. Summer is busiest June through September.
Book directly by phone or email at least 4 weeks ahead for July and August weekends. Off-season visits (October to May) rarely require advance notice. The hut is popular with local hiking groups, so Friday and Saturday nights fill quickly during the summer season.
