Reach it from Bezau (12km south) by car or mountain bike on gravel forest roads, or on foot via hiking trails through beech and spruce forest—roughly 2–3 hours from valley villages like Mellau or Schwarzenberg. The location works best as a starting point for day walks across the Bregenzerwald plateau rather than as a mountaineering hut.
The operation functions primarily as an Alpine farm and guesthouse rather than a mountain hut in the traditional sense. Accommodation ranges from simple rooms to family apartments; capacity is modest, typically 20–30 guests. Meals focus on regional Vorarlberg cooking using farm produce where possible. Facilities include a restaurant, modest lounge space, and direct access to walking trails. Winter opening depends on snow conditions and staffing. The setting suits families, casual hikers, and those wanting to stay on working farmland rather than isolated at high altitude.
