Refuge de Pré Clos
3.6About
The refuge is small—six beds total—and operates as a true mountain shelter rather than a staffed facility. You'll find basic sleeping quarters and a communal space with stove heating. There is no warden on-site. Bring your own food, cooking fuel, and water treatment. The season runs July to September reliably; shoulder months depend on snow cover and trail conditions. Check with the Parc or FFCAM before planning a spring or autumn visit.
Book ahead by contacting the managing club or Parc office; availability fills quickly in July and August. Confirm current access and water availability when you call. A headtorch is essential. The hut demands self-sufficiency: stock supplies carefully before you leave town. This is not a destination for casual walkers.
