Cabin D'Orny

Cabane d'Orny sits at 2,826m on the north side of Pic d'Orny in the Massif du Diablerets. The main approach comes from Vers-chez-les-Blanc (1,284m), a 5-hour hike gaining 1,542m via the Lac de Fully and Lac d'Orny. You can also reach it from Chamoson (1,000m) in roughly 6 hours. Snow blocks the direct route until June most years. The hut marks a hub for traversing the Chaîne du Diablerets and accessing peaks like Oldhorn and Wildstrubel.
The SAC-CAS Section Diableret manages the hut and keeps 83 beds across multiple dormitories. Staff cook meals on-site and provide hot water. The hut runs from June to September, closing during winter. Water comes from snowmelt and mountain springs. Phone and email contacts are available before your trip to check conditions and arrange meals. Summer weekends fill early, particularly in July and August.
Book directly with the hut by phone or email at least 2–3 weeks before arrival. Confirm your expected arrival time so the guardian can prepare food. The hut gets busy from mid-July through August and during good-weather weekends in June and September. Single-night stays are possible but less common than multi-day visits.
