Refuge du Pelvoux sits at 2,694m in the heart of the Pelvoux massif, within Parc National des Écrins. The hut is reached from Vallouise via the Ailefroide valley. From the road head at Ailefroide village, allow 2–2.5 hours to reach the refuge on a well-marked trail that climbs steadily through alpine pasture and scree.
