Rifugio Willy Jervis

Rifugio Willy Jervis sits at 1,732m in the Val Pellice, on the western edge of the Cottian Alps. The hut anchors walks across this quieter corner of the range, where granite ridges and high pasture attract hikers avoiding the busier Mont Blanc and Gran Paradiso valleys. Approach from Bobbio Pellice village takes roughly 2.5 hours on steady terrain through mixed woodland. Most parties arrive in the afternoon and stay overnight before ridge traverses or loop walks heading toward the Pian del Sole or higher cols.
The rifugio holds 50 beds across multiple rooms and runs a simple kitchen serving dinner and breakfast. Hot showers are available—unusual for huts at this elevation. No WiFi. The CAI (Club Alpino Italiano) manages it through the Uget Val Pellice section, ensuring a straightforward hut experience without tourist amenities. Open year-round, though snow may make winter approaches difficult; confirm conditions before visiting outside summer months. Staff speak Italian and basic French; English is less reliable.

Outside summer, rings through but expect reduced staffing. Bring cash for payment—card facilities are limited. The hut lies well away from main roads, so getting there requires commitment; this isolation is the appeal.
