Refuge du Habert D'Aiguebelle
3.9About
The refuge is a small, simple hut run by FFCAM. It sleeps around 20 people in basic dormitory accommodation. Meals are available for residents—the kitchen serves dinner and breakfast. Water comes from a spring nearby. The hut has no electricity or heating beyond a wood stove. The season runs from June through September, weather permitting. It's a working base for day hikes into the Belledonne range and for walkers traversing longer routes across the massif.
Contact the FFCAM directly to reserve beds, especially in July and August. Phone ahead to confirm opening dates, as spring snow melt can delay the season. The hut can fill on weekends during July, so book at least 4 weeks in advance for peak season. Half-board (bed, dinner, breakfast) is the standard arrangement. Bring cash; card payment is unreliable in this remote location.
