Chalet de Chizeraz
3.8About
The chalet sleeps 12 across simple dormitory-style bunks. Evening meals and basic breakfast are provided if you book ahead. Cooking facilities are available for self-catering. Water comes from a mountain spring. The toilet is a dry composting system; there are no showers. The chalet operates from June through September, weather permitting. It is staffed irregularly—confirm opening dates before you travel.
Book direct with the guardian by phone or email at least 2 weeks ahead, especially for weekends. July and August fill quickly. The site has no mobile signal; plan accordingly. This is a working refuge for climbers accessing routes on Mont Pourri and peaks in the Vanoise. Expect a functional mountain hut, not a comfortable base. Bring a sleeping bag and expect basic comfort.
