Rauhalmhütte
3.9About
The hut accommodates around 40 people in mixed dormitory rooms. Meals focus on hearty Bavarian fare; the kitchen serves dinner, breakfast, and packed lunches. Showers and toilets are available. The hut operates year-round, though winter access depends on snow conditions and avalanche safety. Most traffic comes May through October. The DAV Sektion München und Oberland maintains the facility to standard Alpine Club standards.
Book through the DAV website or call the hut directly. July and August demand advance booking—aim for 4 to 6 weeks out. Weekends fill faster than weekdays. The hut is popular with Munich-based hikers, so shoulder seasons (May-June, September) offer better availability. Half-board packages are standard. Check opening hours before visiting in winter months, as staffing can be limited.
