Sigrizalm

Sigrizalm sits at 1,160m in the Mangfall Mountains south of Bad Tölz. Reach it in 2.5 hours from Waakirchen village following the Sigritzbach stream valley. The route is straightforward and popular with families. Alternatively, start from Schliersee and approach from the east in 3 hours. The hut lies on the main hiking routes between the Schliersee valley and the Mangfall ridge, so expect regular foot traffic.

This DAV-managed hut operates year-round and sleeps 80 across dormitory beds. The kitchen serves solid Alpine food—expect Kaiserschmarrn, Käsespätzle, and daily soups. You can order packed lunches for onward routes. Hot showers and drying rooms are available. The hut sits in mixed forest at a junction point, making it ideal for multi-day tours rather than a summit hut. Staff speak German as the first language, but basic English usually works.
