Arnikahütte

The Arnikahütte sits at 1,510m in the Benediktbeuren Alps, roughly 10km south of Bad Tölz. Most hikers reach it from the Benediktbeuern village car park via the Loisach valley, a steady 3-hour climb on marked paths through mixed forest and alpine meadow. The final approach crosses open moorland with views toward the Benediktbeurer massif. The hut marks a natural stopping point for through-hikes between Bad Tölz and the higher ridges, or as a base for day walks into the surrounding Isarwinkel region.

The DAV-affiliated hut has 40 bed spaces in shared dorms. Meals include a hot three-course dinner and breakfast; packed lunches are available on request. The hut runs a simple bar. Water comes from a spring on the premises. Winter conditions often close access mid-November through March, depending on snow and thaw. Contact ahead before November to confirm opening dates. The hut accepts both DAV members and non-members, though DAV members get a small bed discount.

Book directly by phone or email at least 6 weeks ahead for July and August weekends. June, September and early October fill quickly too. Weekday slots in summer are usually available with 2–3 weeks' notice. The hut lies on several established hiking circuits, so arrive early if walking in without a reservation.
