Ostwandlager sits at 623m on the eastern flank of the Hochkalter massif in the Berchtesgaden Alps. Reach it from Ramsau bei Berchtesgaden village by hiking south up the Wimbach valley—allow 2.5 to 3 hours for the 7km approach.
