Ricovero Casera Lodina

Ricovero Casera Lodina sits at 1562m in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region of northeastern Italy. The hut is reached via hiking trails from the Dogna Valley. Most parties approach from Pulfero or Monrupino, with trailhead access requiring a car. Expect 2–3 hours of hiking to reach the hut depending on your starting point and fitness. The location works as a base for day hikes into the surrounding limestone terrain or as a waypoint on longer traverses through the Julian Alps.
The refuge is small and basic. It has 6 beds total across its rooms. The hut provides meals and drinks to guests and can accommodate self-catering groups if you bring your own supplies. Water is available on-site. The building is typically open from spring through autumn, though you should confirm current opening dates before planning your trip. There are no showers or hot water; bring a headlamp and be prepared for simple, mountain-hut conditions.
