Rifugio Pradoi

Lombardy, Italy

About

Rifugio Pradoi stands at 2,315m in the Orobie Alps, east of Bergamo. Reach it from Carona (1,400m) via the Val Brembana valley—the trail climbs steeply for 4 to 5 hours through forest and alpine meadows. An alternative approach runs from Piazzatorre (1,600m) for roughly 3 hours. The hut is the base for climbs on Pizzo Tre Signori (2,645m) and traverses across the Orobie crest.

The rifugio holds 80 beds across shared rooms. It serves full meals and packed lunches; half-board is standard. Hot showers, a bar, and a kitchen for self-catering guests are available. The season runs June through September; winter access depends on snow conditions and avalanche risk. Phone ahead before winter visits.

Book 2–3 months ahead for July and August. Contact the hut directly by phone or email. The rifugio is privately managed and does not use the CAI booking system. Weekends fill quickly. July sees the busiest period; June and September offer quieter conditions with the same terrain open.
