Bivouac Reginaldo Giuliani al Sassolungo
3.4Bivacco Reginaldo Giuliani al Sassolungo
About
The hut sleeps 5 in basic bunks plus 4 emergency places on the floor. There is no guardian, no meals, and no water on-site—bring everything you need. The bivouac opens fully in summer (June–September) with occasional staffing. Winter access is possible but the hut remains unheated and unmanned. Expect cold, spartan conditions year-round. This is a refuge for mountaineers doing multi-pitch climbing or ridge traverses, not a base camp for casual hikers.
Book via rifugi.cai.it or email CAI Bolzano directly. July and August fill quickly; reserve at least 6 weeks ahead. Outside summer, email to confirm access and conditions. Bring a sleeping bag, water, snacks, and a headtorch. The bivouac is not a place to linger—use it as a high-altitude overnight before dawn starts on technical terrain.
