Ütia Toni Demetz

Ütia Toni Demetz sits at 2,685m in the Dolomites, accessible from multiple directions. Most hikers approach from the Passo Ghedina (2,135m) via the Alta Via 1 trail, a 3–4 hour ascent. You can also reach it from Cortina d'Ampezzo to the north or from the Tre Cime di Lavaredo area to the east. The hut overlooks open alpine meadows with direct views toward the Sorapis and Ra Gusela peaks.
The hut holds 29 beds in rooms ranging from 2 to 6 people. Dinner is a set menu of local mountain cooking; breakfast is included. Showers are available—a genuine luxury at this elevation. The hut operates year-round but sees the strongest traffic June through September. Winter access depends on snow conditions and avalanche risk; contact ahead if visiting November to April. The kitchen team speaks Italian, German, and basic English.
Book directly by email or phone at least 6 weeks ahead for July and August weekends. Shoulder seasons (June, September, early October) fill up 3–4 weeks in advance. Weekday slots in peak season are easier to secure. Half-board rates are standard; the hut accepts cash and bank transfer. Confirm your arrival time when you book—the kitchen needs headcount for dinner preparation.
