Rifugio Cinque Torri

Rifugio Cinque Torri sits at 2,137m in the Dolomites, directly below the distinctive limestone towers that give it its name. You reach it from Passo Ghedina (2,135m) in roughly 15 minutes on foot, making it accessible from the Ra Ghedina valley or via the cable car from Cortina d'Ampezzo. Most hikers arrive from the Tre Cime di Lavaredo trail system—it's a natural lunch or overnight stop on multi-day traverses through this region.

The rifugio holds 24 beds across 7 private rooms, with basic but functional dorm and room options. Half-board is standard: expect simple, hearty mountain food. There's no WiFi—plan accordingly. The hut serves as a working base for day hikes into the Cinque Torri via ferrata, the Tre Cime circuit, and surrounding ridge walks. Water and power are available. The season runs roughly mid-June to mid-September, weather dependent.

Call ahead to book, especially for July and August weekends—the location's proximity to Cortina and the famous Tre Cime means it fills quickly during peak season. A week's notice is usually safe; in summer, aim for 2–3 weeks. The hut is small enough that single nights often work outside July–August, but don't rely on walk-ups in the warm months.
