Rifugio Dolomites Monte Rite

Rifugio Dolomites Monte Rite sits at 2,183m on the Tre Cime di Lavaredo traverse in the heart of the Dolomites. Most parties reach the hut in 3–4 hours from Auronzo di Cadore (1,320m) via the marked trail that climbs steeply through larch forest and across alpine meadow. The final approach crosses exposed terrain with fixed cables in places—this is serious mountain walking, not a casual stroll.
The rifugio has 23 beds spread across 3 private rooms and shared dormitories. Meals are solid mountain fare: dinner is typically a set menu, breakfast is included, and packed lunches are available. There's no WiFi, so bring offline maps and expect to be genuinely off-grid. Water comes from a spring. The hut opens mid-June through September, though exact dates shift with snow conditions—confirm before traveling.
