Rifugio Fodara Vedla sits at 2,593m on the Fodara Vedla plateau in the Dolomites, between the Odle and Puez massifs. You reach it from Ortisei in Val Gardena via the Seceda lift (1,850m) and a 2-hour traverse southeast across alpine meadows and scree. From the Puez Odle hut to the south, allow 3 hours via the Puez Pass. The hut anchors several high routes across this exposed, rocky terrain.
The hut sleeps around 35 guests in small dorm rooms and a few doubles. Meals are standard refuge fare—hearty pasta, polenta, and local mountain dishes. Water comes from a spring; the toilet is basic. The kitchen operates year-round for weekend visitors, though full staffing runs June through September. Winter access depends on snow conditions and requires mountain sense; check ahead if you're visiting outside summer.
