Alp Rohr

Alp Rohr sits at 1200m in the Liechtenstein Alps, in the heart of walking terrain between the Rhine Valley and the high mountains. The hut lies on established hiking routes through the lower Alpine pastures. Access takes 2–3 hours on foot from valley towns like Schaan or Vaduz, depending on your chosen approach. The location works as a base for day walks across the Liechtenstein high country or as an overnight stop on longer ridge traverses.
The hut offers basic mountain hospitality. Capacity runs to around 50 people. Full meals are served to hikers and overnight guests; bring your own sleeping bag and expect shared dormitory accommodation. Showers are available, a rarity at this elevation in the region. The hut operates year-round, though check ahead in winter as weather can cut off access. Contact the LAV (Liechtensteiner Alpenverein) or call ahead to confirm conditions.
Book by phone 2–4 weeks in advance, especially for Friday and Saturday nights in July and August. Weekdays outside peak season see far fewer visitors. The hut accepts cash and card payments. Confirm your expected arrival time when you book. Poor mobile signal in the area means calling from the valley before you set out is more reliable than expecting to reach the hut from the trail.
