Hundsteinhütte SAC

Hundsteinhütte SAC sits at 1554m in the Liechtenstein Alps, reachable from Steg in the Samina Valley. The approach takes 2.5 to 3 hours on marked trails through forest and alpine meadow. This is serious hiking terrain—the hut serves as a base for ridge walks and peaks in the northern Liechtenstein range, not a casual destination.
The hut holds 42 beds across multiple rooms. Meals are served daily; the kitchen handles vegetarian requests but book ahead if you have specific dietary needs. Drinking water is available on-site. There are no showers, so come prepared for basic conditions. The hut operates year-round but verify opening dates before winter visits, as conditions on approach trails can make access unreliable from December through March.
