Mannheimer Hut

Mannheimer Hütte sits at 2,680m in the Liechtenstein Alps and serves as a solid base for high-altitude hiking in this compact mountain range. Reach it from Steg in 3.5 hours via Fürkele Pass, or from the Austrian side near Schruns in roughly 4 hours. The hut commands views across the Rätikon massif and lies within striking distance of Schesaplana (2,964m) and other ridge traverses that define this region. The approach is steep in sections but straightforward in fair weather.
The DAV Mannheim operates this mountain hut with around 80 bed places split between dormitories and small private rooms. Hot meals are served at dinner; breakfast is available. The hut has running water, heating, and a small bar. It's typically open from June through September, depending on snow conditions. Phone ahead to confirm dates in early June or late September as staffing can be limited in shoulder seasons.
Book by email or phone at least 6 weeks ahead for July and August weekends. Solo hikers and small groups often find space midweek without advance notice. The hut fills quickly during school holidays in mid-July and mid-August.
