Oberzalimhütte

Oberzalimhütte sits at 1889m in the Liechtenstein Alps, accessible from the Malbun valley. The approach takes roughly 2 hours from Malbun village, making it a straightforward afternoon hike for most parties. The hut serves as a base for ridge walks and routes into the northern Liechtenstein uplands. Summer and early autumn are the main seasons for hiking here.
The hut has capacity for around 50 guests across dormitory accommodation. The DAV Mannheim section manages operations and provides simple meals including an evening menu and packed lunches for onward hiking. Showers are available, a rarity at this elevation. The kitchen facilities support self-catering if you bring your own food. Most visitors arrive in July and August, when afternoon thunderstorms are common in the region.
