Hut na Planini Razor

Koča na Planini Razor sits at 1,315m on Planina Razor, a high pasture in the western Julian Alps above the Tolminc River valley. Reach it from Tolmin in 3 hours via the marked trail through Tolminc Gorge, or from Kobarid in 2.5 hours. The hut is the base for walks across the Razor plateau and climbs to Krn (2,244m) and Mrežce (1,818m). Most hikers approach from the Tolminc side, which is steeper but more direct.
The PZS-managed hut run by PD Tolmin offers 88 beds in shared rooms. Meals are available daily; book in advance if you want dinner. Water comes from a spring. The hut operates year-round but is quietest October to April. Summer (July–August) brings families and tourists. Winter access depends on snow conditions—contact the hut before arriving.
Book accommodation directly by email or phone, especially for weekends and July–August when beds fill quickly. The hut is a logical overnight stop for multi-day routes linking the Tolminc and Soča valleys, or for exploring the Julian Alps' western edge. Day hikers from the Tolminc Gorge often arrive mid-afternoon, so aim for early booking or arrive before noon.
