Hut na Planini Stador

Koča na Planini Stador sits at 1050m on the Stador Plateau in the Julian Alps, a quiet mountain pasture between the Kanin and Krn massifs. The hut is accessed from the village of Kobarid in the Soča Valley. Most hikers approach via the Soča Trail or from the Lepena direction, taking 2–3 hours depending on your starting point. The location works well as a base for exploring the western Julian Alps or as an overnight stop on longer ridge traverses.
The hut accommodates 16 guests in simple rooms. Meals are available on request—contact ahead to arrange dinner and breakfast. The building has basic facilities and operates year-round, though verify opening dates before visiting in winter or shoulder seasons. The Stador Plateau itself is worth exploring: the rolling grassland offers easy walks with views toward Krn and across to the Kanin. This is working hut territory, not a resort.
Book directly by email or phone at least 2–3 weeks ahead, especially for weekends and July–August. Groups should book 4–6 weeks in advance. Contact the hut directly to confirm meal availability and current opening status. PZS members receive standard hut hospitality and rates.
