Hut pri Slapu Mostnice

Koča pri Slapu Mostnice sits at 732m in the Mostnica River gorge, deep in the Julian Alps near Kranjska Gora. The hut lies at the foot of the Mostnica waterfall—a 15m cascade that dominates the setting. Reach it from Kranjska Gora on foot in 1.5 hours via a marked trail that follows the river gorge. The approach crosses wooden bridges and passes through narrow canyon sections. This is a basecamp hut for exploring the Kamnik-Savinja Alps foothills and surrounding limestone gorges.
The hut offers 20 beds across simple rooms. Meals are available daily, with packed lunches for longer hikes. There's no WiFi. The building has running water, heating, and basic toilets. The hut operates year-round, though winter access depends on snow conditions—call ahead if planning December to February. A small terrace overlooks the gorge. The setting suits hikers wanting to escape busier hut routes: most traffic heads to higher peaks, leaving this gorge quieter.
