The rifugio offers basic mountain hospitality in a quieter corner of the range. Capacity is around 20 beds in simple shared rooms. The kitchen serves straightforward meals—soups, pasta, local specialities—and you can request packed lunches for the next day. Water comes from the spring. The hut operates year-round, though winter conditions above 900m are serious; staff can advise on snow and weather. Facilities are functional rather than luxurious: pit toilets, no showers, heating in common areas only.
Book directly by email or phone at least two weeks ahead, three weeks for weekends July–August. The hut is quieter than major Slovenian huts and fills predictably during summer school holidays. Spring and autumn see steady weekend traffic. Winter visits require advance notice and mountain sense—the approach can be snowbound and avalanche risk exists on steeper sections.
