Hut na Dobrči

Koča na Dobrči sits at 1478m in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps, above the village of Dobrača in the Savinja Valley. Most hikers approach from Dobrača, a 2-hour walk gaining 500m. The hut works as a base for day walks into the surrounding peaks and as a waypoint on longer ridge routes. Access is foot-only; there's no road to the hut itself.
The hut has 30 beds split across dormitory rooms. Hot meals are available when staffed, and you can buy basic supplies. There's no WiFi, so come prepared for a genuine mountain disconnect. The hut typically opens year-round, though winter opening depends on snow conditions and staffing—confirm before planning a winter visit. Facilities include a warm common room and outdoor seating with valley views.
Book directly by email or phone, especially for weekends and July-August when Slovenian holidays drive demand. Aim for at least 2–3 weeks ahead in peak season. Half-board (room plus dinner and breakfast) is standard. The hut is managed by PZS (Planinska zveza Slovenije), so you can also contact your local Alpine club for booking assistance. Arrive early in the day if you haven't pre-booked, as the hut fills fast on summer weekends.
