The present hut was built beside the original one, a converted shepherds' hut, and opened in 1983. The Slovenian Alpine Association (PZS) lists 21 beds in four rooms and 15 places in a shared dormitory, a dining room with 30 seats, toilets and a washroom with cold running water; the hut has had mains electricity since 2003. PZS shows it open daily from June to September, occasionally in spring and October, and closed from November to February. Book by phone (+386 41 276 254) or email ([email protected]).
The hut faces the walls of Ojstrica and Planjava, with the Okrešelj cirque, Skuta and the Rinke to the west. From here, the route over Škarje leads to Ojstrica in about 4 hours and Planjava in about 4 hours 30 minutes, and on to Korošica; these are difficult marked mountain paths, and the Kopinšek route to Ojstrica is graded very difficult. Strelovec (1,764 m) is an easy 1 hour 30 minutes away.
Access Routes
From Dom planincev v Logarski dolini
Park at Dom planincev v Logarski dolini on the Logar Valley road and follow the easy marked path up to the hut: 1 hour hut to hut by the PZS timing, 1 hour 15 minutes from the car. From the Logarska dolina Hotel bus stop, allow about 1 hour 30 minutes.
From the Na razpotju guesthouse via the tunnel path
From the Na razpotju guesthouse on the Logar Valley road, take the path through the tunnel up to the hut, about 1 hour 20 minutes (PZS).
From the Plesnik guesthouse over Plesnikova planina
A longer approach from the Plesnik guesthouse in the Logar Valley over the Plesnikova planina pasture, about 2 hours 45 minutes (PZS).
