Kranjska Hut na Ledinah

Kranjska Koča na Ledinah sits at 1700m in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps, well-positioned for day walks and multi-day traverses across the range. The standard approach from Kamniška Bistrica takes 2.5 hours on a marked trail. You can also reach it from Kamnički Vrh or traverse in from neighbouring huts. The hut works well as a base for climbing Turska Gora (2,058m) and Brana (1,898m), both within an hour's walk.
The hut is staffed seasonally and provides simple accommodation and meals. It's run by PZS and maintains a traditional mountain hut standard with basic but clean dormitory beds. The kitchen serves hot food and sells drinks and snacks. Water comes from a spring. Winter access is unreliable; the hut operates reliably from June through September, with shoulder-season weekends in May and October depending on weather and staffing.
Book ahead during July and August, especially for weekends. Contact PZS or check the Alpine Association's hut listings for current opening dates and phone numbers, as staffing can vary year to year. Mobile signal is poor; call before you leave the valley. The hut fills with Slovenian hikers on summer weekends, so midweek visits are more pleasant.
