Mozirska Hut na Golteh

Mozirska Koča na Golteh sits at 1,360m in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps. The hut stands on Golte, a popular plateau above the Savinja Valley. Most hikers approach from the village of Mozirje, which lies at the base of the massif. The walk from Mozirje takes 2.5–3 hours on a well-marked trail through mixed forest and open meadow. The route gains roughly 800m elevation. The hut is also accessible from other directions via PZS-marked routes, making it a hub for ridge walks and day trips across Golte.
The hut is run by the local PZS section and sleeps around 60 people in dormitory rooms. Meals are available—order half-board when you book. The kitchen serves Slovenian mountain food and caters to vegetarian diets with notice. Water is piped from a spring. The hut has basic toilet and washing facilities. It operates year-round, though facilities and meal service are limited outside the main season (May to October). Winter access depends on snow conditions.
Book directly with the hut for July and August weekends; contact them 4–6 weeks ahead. Mid-week visits in shoulder seasons (May–June, September–October) rarely require advance booking. The hut is a base for walkers and for access to the Golte ridge, so expect busy hut-to-hut crowds on public holidays and in high summer.
