Dragov Lodge na Homu

Dragov Dom na Homu sits at 605m in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps, on the slopes above Zabukovica village. The hut is the base for walks in this quieter region east of Ljubljana. Access is straightforward: drive to Zabukovica, then hike uphill through forest to the lodge in roughly 1.5 hours. The marked trail is steady but unrelenting; mountain bikes can make the approach faster in dry conditions.
The lodge is small and deliberately basic. It sleeps around 20 people in shared rooms. Meals are simple—soups, stews, bread—and reflect what's available locally rather than mountain-hut kitchen theatre. Water comes from the spring on the property. There's no WiFi, no phone signal, and no hot showers; this is a working hut for serious hikers, not a resort. The season runs year-round, though winter visits require prior arrangement. PZS manages it through the Zabukovica hiking club.
Book directly by email well ahead if you're visiting July or August. Weekends fill faster than weekdays. The hut is rarely overbooked even in peak season, so booking 2–3 weeks ahead usually works. Bring cash; card payments are unreliable this far into the hills. Winter visits need confirmation at least one week prior.
