Filićev Lodge

Filićev Dom sits at 660m on the southern slopes of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps, near the village of Ojstrica. The hut anchors the lower reaches of this range, making it a logical starting point for ascents toward higher summits or a rest stop on traverse routes. Reach it by hiking 1.5 hours from Ojstrica village; the approach is straightforward and well-marked. The location works well for acclimatization days or as a base for family-friendly ridge walks across the Kamnik foothills.

The lodge has 35 beds and a small kitchen that serves hot meals and drinks. Overnight guests get basic dormitory accommodation. The hut operates year-round but closes Mondays and Tuesdays outside peak season (June to September). Water comes from a spring; the building has no shower. Staff will prepare meals if you notify them in advance. The setting is quiet and working farmers' land surrounds the hut, so expect a rural atmosphere rather than an Alpine hub.

Book through the PZS website or contact the hut directly by phone before arrival. Summer weekends fill regularly, so call at least one week ahead. In July and August, book 2–3 weeks in advance. The hut is accessible by vehicle up a rough forest road if you prefer to skip the walk, but confirm this with management first.
