Planinarski Lodge Radoboj

Planinarski Dom Radoboj sits at 860m on the northern edge of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps, above the village of Radoboj in the Savinja Valley. Reach it from Radoboj village by marked trail in 1.5 hours. The approach climbs steadily through beech forest on a well-maintained path. In winter, snow can block access—check conditions before driving up. The hut serves as a base for walks into the Savinja Valley and day hikes to nearby peaks including Ojstrica (1,122m) and approaches toward higher terrain in the range.
The lodge has 40 beds split between private rooms and dormitories. The kitchen serves hot meals and packed lunches; half-board and full-board options are available. Tap water is reliable. The hut operates year-round but staffing varies seasonally—call ahead if planning a winter visit. Basic supplies (chocolate, energy bars) are available at the hut. There are no showers, only washbasins.
Book directly with the hut or through the PZS website. Summer weekends fill quickly; reserve 2–3 weeks ahead for July and August. Winter visits require advance notice since the caretaker may not be present. The hut is family-friendly and a logical stop for multi-day traverses through the Savinja Valley.
