Hut pod Kremžarjevim Vrhom

Koča pod Kremžarjevim Vrhom sits at 1,102m in the Pohorje range, on the eastern edge of the Slovenian Alps. The hut lies on the popular hiking route between Črna in the Pohorje valley and Lovrenško Jezero. Most hikers reach it in 1.5 to 2 hours from Črna. The route is well-marked and gains 400m steadily through beech forest. Winter access depends on snow conditions; the road up the Pohorje plateau is often closed December to March.
The hut is a simple, traditional mountain shelter run by PZS (Planinska zveza Slovenije). It has capacity for around 20 people in basic dormitory accommodation. Meals are available—the hut serves hearty soups, bread, and local specialties. There is no running water on-site, so facilities are minimal. The hut opens May through October and operates weekends year-round outside those months. Call ahead to confirm meals are being prepared, especially in shoulder season.
Book directly by phone with the PZS section that manages the hut. July and August are busy; aim to book 2 to 3 weeks ahead for those months. May, June, September, and October are quieter and offer more flexibility. The hut is popular with families and groups hiking the longer Pohorje ridge routes, so weekends fill faster than weekdays.
