Planinarska Kuća Cesargrad

Planinarska Kuća Cesargrad sits at 1,270m in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps, a base for hiking the ridge between Kamniškog Vrha and Ojstrica. Reach it from the village of Nevlje in the Kamnik Valley—a 2-hour hike on well-marked trails. The hut is also accessible from Kamnik itself via longer routes through beech and spruce forest. Most hikers arrive from the north, making it a natural stopping point for traverses across the range.
The hut sleeps 40 people across simple dormitory accommodation. Food service includes basic hot meals, packed lunches, and drinks. Tap water is reliable. The hut has basic toilet facilities and no shower. It operates year-round, though winter visits require advance warning to the manager. The building is straightforward and functional—expect comfort appropriate to a working mountain hut, not a resort.

The hut fills quickly during July and August when ridge walkers plan multi-day traverses. Email or telephone booking is essential; do not assume walk-up availability during peak season.
