Staldenmaadhütte

Staldenmaadhütte sits at 1116m in the Kirchberg area of the Bernese Oberland, on the edge of the Napf region. Reach it from Zäziwil by hiking 1.5 hours northeast through mixed forest and meadows. The trail is straightforward and well-marked, gaining roughly 250m. You can also approach from the Rüeggisberg direction in around 2 hours. This low-elevation location makes it accessible year-round, even when higher alpine huts are snow-bound.

The SAC section Kirchberg manages this modest hut, which operates as a base for day hikes rather than a backcountry staging point. Capacity is small—around 20 beds—spread across dormitory rooms. The hut serves simple meals and drinks for residents and daytime visitors. There's no shower, but basic washing facilities are available. Open year-round except for brief maintenance periods, it works well for families and casual hikers exploring the forested hills and open pastures of the lower Oberland.
