Steinige Rippa

Steinige Rippa sits at 1374m in the Bernese Oberland, on the hiking route between Kandersteg and the Blausee. The hut is reached via trail from Kandersteg village—roughly 1.5 hours on foot through mixed forest and meadow. It's also accessible from the Blausee car park in about 2 hours. The location puts you between major valley hiking destinations, making it useful as a rest stop or overnight point for longer traverses in this region.

The hut offers simple accommodation and meals. It's a working mountain inn, not a dedicated Alpine hut, so expect basic but solid facilities. Capacity is modest—around 30-40 beds. Meals focus on local specialities and hearty fare suited to hikers. Opening season typically runs Easter through October, though dates can shift with snow conditions. Check directly before planning a winter visit. The hut has water and toilet facilities; there's no shower.
