Suls-Lobhornhütte

Suls-Lobhornhütte sits at 1955m in the Bernese Oberland, accessible via a 2-hour hike from Suls in the Justistal valley. The approach climbs steadily through mixed forest and meadow to reach the hut's position on the eastern flank of the Lobhorn. This is solid hiking terrain rather than scrambling—good boots and basic fitness are enough. The hut works as a base for day walks to the Lobhorn (2313m) or onward traverses toward the Schärhorn.
The SAC-managed hut holds 24 beds across several rooms and operates year-round, though winter access depends on snow conditions. The kitchen serves hot meals at lunch and dinner. You can self-cater if you prefer—a small kitchen is available and there's reliable drinking water. Facilities are basic: toilet and washroom with cold water. The hut runs on a caretaker model, so expect simple but functional accommodation suited to Alpine hikers rather than luxury.
