Forsthaus Sackholz

Forsthaus Sackholz sits at 1,532m in the Appenzell Alps, reached via the Säntis massif. The hut is a 2.5-hour walk from Appenzell village or accessible from nearby Brülisau. Most trekkers arrive from the north, crossing rolling pastureland with steady climbing in the final sections. The location works well as a staging point for day trips to Säntis (2,502m) or as a rest stop on multi-day Alpine traverses through northeastern Switzerland.
