Baita Case Rosse G.A.C.

Baita Case Rosse sits at 1,637m in the Italian Alps of the Tre Cime area, in the Dolomites. The hut is reached from Misurina village by hiking south through mixed forest and meadow—roughly 2.5 hours of steady climbing. Most parties approach from the eastern shores of Lago di Misurina, following marked trails into the Val di Sorapis. The setting puts you at the base of serious rock climbing and mountaineering terrain while remaining accessible for day hikers tackling the Tre Cime loop.
The hut manages 40 beds in simple shared rooms. The kitchen serves breakfast and packed lunches; dinner is available if ordered in advance. There's a basic bar. Toilet and washing facilities are standard mountain hut standard—cold water and squat toilets. The hut runs year-round, though winter visits require self-sufficiency as staffing is minimal. The managed approach and proximity to popular rock climbing makes this a working hut rather than a social hub; expect a working crowd in summer.
