Cabin Tita Secchi

Capanna Tita Secchi sits at 1,740m in the Ticino Alps, on the southern flank of Monte Tamaro. Reach it from Rivera (Sopraceneri) via the Alpe Fopra trail, a 2.5-hour ascent through mixed forest and alpine meadow. The hut also connects to trails leading toward Cima della Camughera and Monte Tamaro itself. Most visitors approach from the south via the Magliaso-Rivera railway line.
The hut offers 25 beds across multiple rooms and serves meals daily during the season. Flush toilets and basic washing facilities are available. It operates year-round, though winter visits require advance notice. The location works well as a base for day hikes across the Ticino ridge system or as a midpoint on longer mountain traverses. The southern aspect means reasonable weather windows even in shoulder seasons.

Winter visits (November–March) need confirmation in advance as the hut may reduce staffing. The hut accepts cash and bank transfers; check current payment methods when booking.
