About
This is a working alpine dairy hut, not a conventional mountain refuge. It operates seasonally during the grazing months and offers basic shelter and drinking water. Accommodation and meals are not reliably available, so treat it as a day shelter rather than a guaranteed overnight stop. Bed space is extremely limited. The hut sits in open pastureland with views toward the Säntis massif.
Contact the managing organization or check current conditions before visiting, as opening dates and facilities vary by season. Summer months (June through September) offer the most reliable access. This hut works best as a waypoint on longer routes rather than a destination in itself. Carry supplies if planning to spend time here, and always have a backup plan for overnight accommodation at established mountain huts elsewhere on your route.
