Refuge Alp de Setaggiè

Rifugio Alp de Setaggiè sits at 1,959m in the Setaggiè valley, northeast of the village of Arvé. Reach the hut on foot from Arvé in around 2 hours, following the path that climbs through mixed forest and alpine meadows. The approach is straightforward and well-marked, making it accessible for most hill walkers. From the hut, you can access peaks and ridges throughout the Albula Alps, and the location works as a base for multi-day traverses in the region.
The hut is managed as a simple mountain refuge with around 20 bed spaces in shared dormitories. Meals focus on hearty, filling fare: expect soup, pasta, and cheese-based dishes. Water comes from a reliable spring on the property. The hut operates from June through September, depending on snow cover and weather. Facilities are basic but adequate—there are no showers, and heating relies on wood stoves in the main room. Toilet facilities are outside.
Book directly through the managing organisation or contact the local SAC section in advance, especially for weekends and July-August when the hut fills quickly. The hut can sometimes accommodate walk-ins during quieter periods, but don't rely on it. Expect to pay around 50–70 CHF per night including a simple breakfast.
