Refuge Serafino Gnutti

Rifugio Serafino Gnutti sits at 2,183m on the Adamello Plateau in Lombardy's Adamello-Presanella range. Reach it from the Val Camonica side: start at Sforzellino (1,600m) and hike 2–2.5 hours on a well-marked path. The route gains 580m steadily through alpine pasture and scattered larch. From the north via Val di Genova the walk is longer but also feasible for fit hikers. The hut is open summer only, typically mid-June to mid-September.

The refuge is a simple, functional operation run by CAI Sezione Brescia. It holds 34 beds in mixed and separate rooms. The kitchen serves hot meals and packed lunches; bring cash (no card payments). Showers are available—a genuine luxury at this elevation. There is no WiFi. The Adamello Plateau offers straightforward, non-technical hiking with good views of the surrounding granite peaks. It's a base for day walks to nearby ridges and a stop on longer multi-day routes through the range.

Book directly by phone or email with the hut at least 3–4 weeks ahead, especially for July and August weekends. The refuge fills quickly during peak summer. Confirm opening and closing dates before planning your trip, as mountain weather sometimes shortens the season.
