About
Ringelspitzhütte sits at 2,000m in the Prättigau valley, in eastern Graubünden. The hut anchors several valley-to-ridge routes. Most hikers approach from Schlappin village (about 1 hour's walk to the valley station) or from Schruns in the Austrian Vorarlberg. Allow 3-4 hours from valley floor to the hut depending on your starting point and fitness. The location works well as a base for traverses through the Silvretta massif or as an overnight stop on longer ridge walks.
The hut sleeps 36 in mixed dormitories. SAC members get priority booking and discounted rates. The kitchen serves breakfast and dinner; bring packed lunch supplies or order packed lunch ahead. Drinking water is available on site. The hut operates year-round, though summer (July–September) sees the most traffic. Winter climbing access requires alpine skills and appropriate avalanche awareness.
Contact the hut directly by phone (+41 81 300 13 24) or email to book. July and August fill 2–3 months ahead. June and September are quieter. Weekends book faster than weekdays. SAC membership is recommended for serious hut users across the Alps; it pays for itself after 2–3 stays.
