Cabin Brogoldone

Capanna Brogoldone sits at 1,910m in the Ticino Alps, on the border between Switzerland and Italy. The hut is reached from Rodi-Fiesso in the Leventina Valley. The approach takes 2.5 hours on foot from the village, climbing through mixed forest and meadow to open terrain near the hut. The trail is well-marked and graded as moderate hiking. This location makes it a solid base for day walks across the surrounding ridges and to nearby peaks.
The hut has 57 beds in shared dormitory rooms. Meals are served daily—book your dinner and breakfast when you reserve. The kitchen provides hot drinks and light snacks throughout the day. Water is available on-site. There are no self-catering facilities, so you eat what the hut provides or bring your own food. The hut operates year-round, though conditions are mountainous and snow closes access reliably from November through April. Summer months (June to September) see the most traffic.
Book directly by phone. July and August fill quickly, so contact the hut at least 4–6 weeks ahead for these months. Shoulder seasons (May–June and September–October) are less busy but still require a booking call rather than walk-in appearances. The hut staff speak Italian and some English. Expect to pay around 35–45 CHF for a bed and 20–25 CHF per meal.
