Refuge Alpe di Peurett

Rifugio Alpe di Peurett sits at 1745m in the Ticino Alps, on the high pasture of Alpe di Peurett. The hut serves as a base for hiking and mountaineering in this less-crowded corner of the southern Alps. Reach it from Robiei or from the Val Verzasca—both approach routes take roughly 2–3 hours depending on your starting point and fitness. The terrain is steep in sections but well-marked. This is genuine mountain country: granite peaks, larch forests, and sparse infrastructure.
The refuge is basic but functional. It has dormitory beds and can accommodate around 20 people. Meals are available, and you'll find drinking water on site. The season runs from June through September; confirm opening dates before you go. This is a working alp with animals in summer, so expect some pastoral atmosphere alongside the mountaineering traffic.
Book ahead during July and August, especially for weekends. Contact the hut directly by phone or email (details via the SAC or Ticino regional mountaineering federation). Early June and September offer better availability and clearer skies than peak summer. This hut works best as part of a multi-day traverse rather than a single-night stand, given its remote location and the quality of the surrounding peaks.
