Badushütte SAC Manegg

Badushütte sits at 2,503m on the eastern flank of the Badus massif in Uri, between the Göschenen valley and the Meiental. Most hikers reach it from Göschenen (on the Gotthard railway and highway) via the Badus trail: 2.5 hours of steady ascent through alpine meadow. The route is direct and well-marked. You can also approach from the Meiental side (3 hours from Meien), making this hut a logical stop on traverse routes across central Uri.
The SAC operates this hut as a simple, solid base for mountain hiking and climbing around the Badus (2,928m) and adjacent peaks. It sleeps 35 in dormitory beds. The hut serves substantial evening meals and breakfast. Water comes from the mountain—reliable year-round. There's no shower. Cell reception is weak or absent. The hut is open from June to October, and staffed weekends year-round during that window. It's a working climber's hut: expect a mix of guided groups and independent mountaineers.

Plan your stay around the weather window—the exposed location means conditions change fast. The nearest supply point is Göschenen. This isn't a resort hut: bring warm layers, rain kit, and an early start mentality.
